The Afrolynk Conference 2019 was held in Berlin, at Microsoft Berlin on the 20th of
September 2019. The conference focused on these three main areas; Technology, Investments,
and Growth & Expansion amongst startups. These areas were chosen to expound the minds of
upcoming startups and the places to build themselves up for investors to recognize their
potential.
Afrolynk and giz Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit on behalf of the
German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and African
Development Bank Group (AfDB) collaborated to initiate this workshop.
Thanks to the experts, entrepreneurs, young innovators and the facilitators you made this
workshop more diverse, more dynamic, and thus more tangible. During the meet-up, Mr. Moses Acquah,
the founder of Afrolynk, was given the platform to share with the audience the benefits of entrepreneurship
in Africa and how to support young investors as well.
This conference really opened a more excellent light to some start-ups in Africa, Europe, and Asia.
These startups, through Afrolynk, got the opportunity to showcase themselves to the European market
for financial support from the European community.
The innovative European ecosystem is determined to create more effective and efficient channels in collaboration
with Afrolynk to provide assistance to these upcoming startups. The workshop was an eye opener for these startups
who were ready to participate before over 100 delegates from all over the world.
As an impact venture that supports startups, investors and entrepreneurs are drawn to enrich the EU-African market.
The CEO of Afrolynk, Mr. Moses Acquah iterated that "there are many opportunities out there, all you have to
do is know the right one to go for and it will be your golden ticket".
The 2019 Conference ended with a pitching competition which was dubbed Afrolynk Startup night. Startup from the
African startup ecosystem came to pitch for the grand prize to give the audience a feel of the market out there.
Finally, Mr. Acquah said, "Let's keep the fire burning of connecting the AAfrican and the European Ecosystem!
This is the best hour for us to work as a team".
From the conference, many startups from all over the world took the chance to create networks with investors and
potential partners.
